I am currently on day 6 of having COVID and am getting a bit tired of my four walls which is a good sign. Thought I'd post to say that I have been lucky enough to get away with it very lightly and presume that's down to having had both jabs.
My blood sugars have been great. Symptoms different to those advertised (sounds like I'm doing a product review on amazon), started with a headache and sore throat. Haven't had much of a temperature, no continous cough. Have had earache, blocked nose and have felt wiped out. I have lost sense of smell and taste over last two days.
Thought this might help with everything opening up and numbers soaring. I have felt worse with colds before now and in pre-covid days would definitely have had a lensip and been back at work after day 4.

Sounds like you’ve been lucky. Thank goodness. My 18 year old niece has it too at the moment. She’s had one jab and works in a school. No pre existing illnesses. Her symptoms sound very similar to yours. She’s very annoyed about having no taste the most as she loves her grub!
Take care and thanks for the reassurance. I was starting to feel a bit anxious again.

Sorry to hear you have Corvid. I trust it will sling its hook soon.

I hope you’re fully recovered soon @stephknits Thank you for posting this. I think it’s really helpful to know what symptoms you had - and also reassuring that the two jabs seem to have made it a milder thing for you.

Out of interest, what made you take a Covid test as it sounds like something you could well have written off as just a cold?

Well I'd heard that symptoms were different with new variants and I'm lucky in that I don't often suffer from headaches, so having one was quite unusual for me. Also, as my kids were due to go to school / me to work the next day, I thought I might as well be on the safe side. Did a lateral flow, which was positive, did another also positive. Rest of the family negative. Went online and booked a drive through pcr for 9am the next morning. Positive result came back Tuesday midday.

Glad to hear the vaccinations seem to have worked to ameliorate the affects of Covid for you. Hope you recover very soon.

Sorry you have ended up with Covid Steph, but more than pleased you only have mild symptoms rather than being very unwell with it.

Sounds as if the vaccine has done it's job.

Thanks so much for posting this as it is so helpful to have an idea of the practical reality of what we are looking for and reassuring that it hasn't affected you too badly. Hopefully you will be back to full health soon and have a stronger immune system to deal with any future infection..... which I am guessing will be an inevitable feature we all have to accept but hopefully, as our immune systems adapt and the virus adapts we will find some balance as with the common cold.

Thank you 🙂 I think you were very wise and on-the-ball.

Sorry you’ve got it but glad to hear it seems to be mild. Delta seems to be different in symptoms and I wish the test website would update so people know they can get a PCR.

Agreed, I just ticked that i had one of the symptoms listed - I did feel a bit hot and cold. When you go for the test, they don't check anything like that anyway.

Urgh! Sorry to hear about your brush with the plague @stephknits

Well done for being so on the ball, and thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hope you are through and out the other side really soon 🙂
