A very good friend of my wife has been unwell since early March. She is healthy, active and in her early 40s. We have been doing her shopping and regular trips to the chemist, something that she is grateful for and embarrassed about in equal measure! She has been prescribed all sorts of medication, mainly different types of steroid. She had a mild cold, the symptoms of which were a runny nose and sneezes. She had no cough, no temperature or aches and pains. As an asthmatic the cold made its way to her lungs and she was very wheezy (as an asthmatic, I can empathise as this always happens to me with colds too). She has been told by her doctor on numerous occasions that she definitely does not have Covid 19 and that the medication will clear things up. It hasn't and she has been getting progressively worse. Today, she was struggling to breathe properly and saw the doctor who has said that the latest evidence that has come out of observing patients is that many people exhibit very few symptoms of the disease, but if they have underlying health issues such as asthma, diabetes etc it is in the 'remission' stage that things get bad and seem to last a very long time. He now thinks she did have Covid 19 thinks this is what is happening to her. He said that more evidence/ information keeps coming to light that points to how important it is for those with underlying health issues to stay safe. She is now on stronger meds to control things and the doctor has said she will get better, it is just going to take time.
Not sure easing lockdown measures is the most sensible idea when we still know so little about this disease.
