At least five NHS workers have been suspended amid claims they stole drugs from hospitals in Coventry and Warwickshire.
Three members of staff working for University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UNCW) were suspended this year for taking prescription-strength painkillers codeine phosphate and ketamine, and the anti-nausea drug cyclizine, it was alleged.
And one worker for the trust, which runs Coventry’s University Hospital and Hospital of St Cross in Rugby, was suspended in 2013 for allegedly swiping codeine.
