Could my blood pressure pills be making me itch?

About six years ago I began to suffer with occasional itching on my body, but it now affects me most days, particularly on my back, stomach, arms, and legs.
I have eliminated possible causes such as soap and shampoo, and my GP has prescribed Dermol 500 cream, which calms it slightly.
I take daily losartan potassium blood pressure tablets and side-effects listed are itching, rash and hives. Could these be the cause? I am 79.
