Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
I have always suffered with tiredness but recently it's got worse. I feel totally exhausted when I wake up and I have hardly any energy all day and come the evening I just crash.

I've also noticed in the last couple of weeks that I'm going for a wee more often than usual.

I've had a diabetes tests before (twice with pregnancies because my dad has type 2, and another time when I went to the doctor about tiredness)

I also get very irritable and shaky if I haven't eaten for a while, and I sometimes feel shaky after eating.

But these are all symptoms I've had previously and my tests have always been negative, so it seems unlikely that I would have a test now and suddenly this time it's positive...

Also, I've noticed in the last couple of weeks that my vision is worse (I'm short sighted anyway) I notice especially if I've been looking at my phone then look up to the TV, it takes a while for my eyes to adjust.

Hi Twinkle, welcome to the group.

It's as well to have this checked out at the Dr.'s..... Particularly if your symptoms are changing. Also if D is in the family you may well have a genetic predisposition

Hi Twinkle
Definitely best to get it checked out. Some people have reactive hypoglycaemia in the lead up to developing type 2, thought to be overproduction of insulin in response to burgeoning insulin resistance. Shakiness when not eating, and immediately after eating can be a sign of that I believe, because the body is over reacting and putting out too much insulin. It could of course be a million other things that are easy to treat too.

Hope you get some answers 🙂
