Correlation implies causation? (follow-on from the statins thread)

As requested by Alan (@Northerner), starting a new thread rather than muddying the "does you does or did you did take statins?" thread any further.

Looking at what caused the massive topic drift, it's very likely that there is indeed a correlation between dementia and taking more than 3 meds — because those who suffer dementia are likely to be suffering other health problems as well, and thus need meds for those problems. I have for years been on about a dozen meds, and so far show no sign of dementia.
