Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Highlights:
Well controlled diabetics at no more risk than general population.
Total infections are likely to be at least 10 to 20 times official 'diagnosed' figures due to time lag before symptoms.
Masks only protect others. There is 1 type of mask which protects medics, but its not suitable to wear for any length of time.
Low Carb Way Of Eating helps keep immune system strong. Raised HDL (and even raised LDL) boost immune system.
Although young are considered to be at lower risk if they get infected, they are probably at same risk of infection plus they pose an infection threat to older people due to having mild symptoms.

Mediterranean covers over 20 diets and some are quite radically different from others. Some are Low carb and some are High Carb, some are high fish oil and some are high animal fat.
So it is misleading to claim anything for a 'mediterranean diet'.
However Low Carb purely covers the range of below 120gms per day of carbs.
It is only the carbs that a Type 2 diabetic needs to concentrate on. It's only the High/Moderate carb with High/Moderate fat diet that is a health hazard to Type 2 Diabetics.
Within Low Carb we can go relatively higher on Protein, or higher on Fat; and go for traditional fats or industrially processed seed oils (if we feel they are really healthy), or for protein from red meat, white meat, fish, sea food, or purely from Veg such as legumes.

Sorry, unsure of HDL ?
Are you saying that you don't know what HDL is, or that you disagree that higher HDL is/can be beneficial ?
HDL is falsely also called 'good cholesterol'. - Falsely because all cholesterol is 'good' , even the so-called bad cholesterol (LDL) is essential for animal life to exist and people who have higher that the WHO recommended LDL actually live longer than those with the recommended level !
