HERE for the first time, Coronation Street star Lisa George and her mother Min talk about the illness that has affected their family for nearly 60 years.
Coronation Street knicker-stitcher Beth Tinker has a well-deserved reputation. Every time she opens her mouth to voice yet another unsolicited opinion, eyes start to roll among viewers and on-screen colleagues alike.
Lisa George isn’t like that at all.
OK, the actress is naturally funny, and she’s done plenty of manual jobs in her time (including one stint in a fish-finger factory). But that’s where the similarities end.
“I’m more shy and softer than she is,” says the Grimsby-born 43 year old. “Beth doesn’t do subtle – she says things I’d never dare to. Though in a way,” she adds with a grin, “it’s a bit of an outlet.”
