Hi Guys,

Can anyone recommend a carry case of pouch to carry insulin pens in hot countries ?

I've seen some kit-bags (looked at the other recent threads, but they are a bit big)

Thanks x

Thanks Northy will have a look at them x

Frio is good. Will last for a couple of weeks but if needed, can be 'recharged' by just running under a cold tap for a minute.

I swear by Frio bags. I have two 🙂

I can reccomend the Frio pouches...

I've had mine for years now...

I use mine camping easier than faffing with air-tight container dumped in bowl of cool water stuck under the trailer in the shade method that I have sucessfully used before obtaining my Frio pouch... One charge of water in this country is enough to keep going for a week or so while camping even when we've had the luxuary of really hot weather..

Just the hotter the country the quicker you've got to recharge them in cool water..

Thanks for this info.

Will it cause me problems at the airport having water in it ? normally any liquids except insulin are taken of you when you go through security. Would this be the case ?

Never had any problems so far. We used to tell them that it was a "liquid", but even when we didn't, nobody batted an eyelid.

I prefer to use a small (0.6 litre) stainless steel vaccuum flask, as it's much cheaper and more robust, offering physical protection against knocks as well as protection against extremes of temperature, than Frio bags. For passage through airport security, flask needs to be empty of fluid, but can be filled before going on place. This method has seen me through trips up to 4 months long in South America.

Frio bags are great and have never let me down, be careful not to soak them for to long as you'll struggle to get the pens and insulin inside.

Thanks everyone - will have a good look on line tomoz - started today but got side tracked x

Frio bags are brill, when going through both UK and USA airports I kept them in the clear bags they provide you. The only reason I got stopped during my entire trip was due to suncream! 🙄

I've order one today - will receive next week.

Thanks again guys

What colour did you get?
We've got a red and a blue one
