However if you drink it then it is supposed to suppress the livers production of glucose so that should be a positive, cooking will destroy the alcohol so it is just flavoured water with carbs.

I always assumed that the alcohol was boiled off due to it having a lower boiling point than water. I guess it all boils down to the same thing though. 🙄
