I rang surgery today because my lancing device had broken and they told me to call in to collect a new one. When I arrived they had put ready for me a new meter - contour black edition, I currently have a Contour TS from GP, plus a code free as I only get 50 strips a month from GP.

What I can't find online is if the Black uses the same strips as TS. My old monitor is working fine so also wondering if the Black is new then will the TS strips get cheaper. I prefer the TS to my Codefree as I have less random readings with it so would be happy to switch to buying those if they are the same price as the Codefree which I currently manage to buy for £6 for 50 if I buy 250 in one go.

I doubt very much indeed if you can buy em that cheaply. 'Good meter' strips tend to cost anything from £15 to £25 a pot. You'll have to ask in various pharmacy's.

I have bought contour TS previously off ebay but as you say cost me £15. The black meter seems to use different strips so not sure if TS will become "last year" so drop in price. I can't seem to find definitive strips for contour black. My prescription just says Contour strips!
