it doesn't take a lot as you probably know!

Well was just having a loot at DUK shopping guide and you can pop items in a basket and they tell you how healthy it is.

So yesterday i thought that i did quite well... well no i did very well, only had 1 potato at lunch and min carbs at dinner and breakfast.

They added my carb intake to 5 (which was a big high but you can't put 1/2 in! They then said that i wasn't eating enough carbs and had to have 7 portions a day..

Do i TRY to eat less carbs or not, is 7 a low amount in a day?

FYI: 1 portion is 2 small potatoes or 3 tablespoons cooked pasta or 1 slice of bread.

what do you think?

Thanks in advance

Julie xx

For the ammount of food you are getting 7 doesn't sound too high, but I am not counting carbs at the moment

Julie, like many I followed the DUK guidelines at first and found that my blood glucose still remained high. As a result of a lot of reading and further work I've reduced my starchy carbs considerably but no where near as far as the low carbers like Dodger. Now follow a low GI approach and count my carbs so have about 130g a day - mainly from fruit and veg and find that my blood glucose is much more stable
