The doctors would of had the scan results about the same time as myself, and yesterday I missed a call which was from the docs. Rang them back and all they want is for me to come in for a blood pressure check.

They have a long history of my blood pressure readings as every time I go there they take a reading (which is quite often) as with current meds on the max I can tolerate. Confused as why they just want a blood pressure reading.

Just checked myself and my meter reads around 137 / 69 with a pulse of 74, reading vary a bit on the systolic reading, though the Diastolic reading is stable give or take 1. The irregular heartbeat flashes on most of the tests done.

BP doesn't look alarming, as you say - perhaps the person had misread the notes regarding why you should go in? Let us know when the mystery is solved, good luck! 🙂

Both my BP meds are on repeat, so the repeats expire at different times and every bloody time they want MORE BP readings, instead of looking to see last time they did it, which will be in the last couple of months anyway - drives me nuts keep sending them .....

Called in to the doc's as I was passing, def only want a blood pressure check to be done by them.

One good thing with my repeat they all require re-authorising at the same time, but getting meds added to the repeat is now a problem. One does not see a doc now to get them re-authorised, but see the in practice pharmacist who can not add any meds onto the repeat, only take them off.

I don't actually have to see anyone to get the BP ones renewed - providing I tell em my BP and it's OK - and the others have been added by the hospital (ie insulin, Thyroxine (though the GPs have titrated that in view of later results) and the Clopidogrel) so they get the hospital reports and the test results - if they want to argue about what the hospital are saying then that's nowt to do with me - I wouldn't accept any GP trying to change what the hospital have discussed and agreed with me fully, without the hospital again explaining it and my agreeing.

I think GPs have to cover their backsides. My mother's worsening blood pressure led to her first stroke and was basically because her condition was not monitored by her GP and the hospital doctors went ballistic when they found mum was on hardly any BP meds at all.

It's different when you are monitoring yourself, it's a question of getting your GP to accept what you say, in writing, too many mistakes made over the phone. I just take my diary, although when I'm there she does it as a matter of course. She's happy I'm monitoring and I use the same machine as she does.
