Hi,
Just been diagnised with prediabetes and exploring these forums.
What is the difference between Diabetes.co.uk and DIabetes.org?
Are there two different forums?
Thanks

Welcome .
Yes the are two different forums.
Diabetes.org that is this one is affiliated to Diabetes UK the Diabetes Charity.
The Diabetes.co.uk is not a Charity I believe.

Hi CatherineN, welcome to the forum 🙂 Yes, as @grovesy says, the two forums are totally separate. This forum is the forum of the national charity, Diabetes UK ( https://www.diabetes.org.uk/ ) and the 'other' one is part of a commercial organisation. Like you, when I was first diagnosed I was very confused, particularly since diabetes.co.uk do very little to clarify the difference - I suspect it is beneficial to them to have this (mistaken) association with the charity. However, we are all sources of information and support, it's really a case of finding the place you feel meets your needs best and that you feel most comfortable with 🙂

What were the circumstances of your diagnosis? What advice have you been given? Have you taken any steps so far to try and improve your situation? Please feel free to ask any questions you may have - nothing is considered 'silly'! 🙂 I think the best approach is probably not to think of yourself as 'pre-diabetic', but to imagine that you do have diabetes and make the necessary modifications to manage your blood sugar levels just as we all do. There is nothing particularly special about the diet and lifestyle of a person with diabetes - what is healthy for us is healthy for everyone! 🙂

Welcome to the forum, I too got confused
