Overall my diabetes control is getting much better. Although today I am shattered, bit fed up and seeing all the easter eggs etc in Morrisons made me really crave chocolate! I used to eat tons of the stuff before I was diagnosed. I tried to be sensible by buying a half price box of roses, justifying to myself that I'll just eat 2 tiny chocs as a treat. Already I've eat 4and I want to eat more😱. I forgotten how yummy they are.
Does anyone else ever just loose the will to be good sometimes? Wish I never bought them now as my will powers rubbish today.

Quite simply, yes.................

A big tin of chocolates is quite hard to ration in my opinion, IO would also be quite happy to consume the lot.......

Any chance you could give them to someone to ration for you.......?

Thanks novorapidboi26, good idea. Normally I'd give them to my husband to hide out of sight but hes away with work and so I'm alone, live next to a farm. Who was I kidding! next time I'll have to justy buy none.

Me, lose my will 🙄 I'm very strong willed, never to anything wrong, I don't cheat, I never eat stuff that I shouldn't, now where did you say you saw those chocs at half price, oh, by the way I'm also a liar 😛

Chattygirl, why not try some Lindt excellence dark supreme 90% cocoa chocolate, 1 square will satisfy your craving

John.

Theres a thought, I'll give that a go John. Ive now eat 6, I'm gonna have to throw the rest away if I dont get a grip soon.

My willpower is well below par - so don't buy naughty chocolate as I would consume all in one sitting.

My biggest demon of all is work - I have the task of guarding the client biscuits with my life and every now and again they scream eat me from the tin and I do surrender. (not very often - they don't trust any of the other staff as they are all gannets disguised as people and if they sniff biscuits they go in a flash)

I do however go for the more higher % dark generally 70% +

My favorite is hotel chocolat - I'll buy hubby some for Christmas/Birthday/Easter etc and snaffle a little

You will be better off throwing them away because you will end up eating more. Show how strong you are and throw them in the bin. Nobody is going to suffer if they don't get eaten.

Chatty, don't waste them, try popping them in the freezer and just take a couple out each day.

Even putting them out of sight - or perhaps in a high cupboard for which you need a chair to reach - might help put some space between you and them 🙂

If you must throw away food, then please ensure it gets composted, not sent to landfil! But better to eat over days / weeks than throw away.

just reading this thread has made me fancy some choccie. :D:D:D

😱 just eaten a Tunnock's caramel wafer! Mmmmmm....

Sorry, not much help!

I think freezing is a brill idea.

Not everyone has the space or desire to compost, brill if you do have such a garden of course. But they do take the garden waste separately here - we don't tend to use the bin all that much though as it involves moving the motorhome and a trailer, then putting them back, then doing it all again after the bin men have been. And nowhere at all to compost food waste.

Plus of course, you'd have to unwrap the whole lot before chucking em on the compost heap - like that's gonna work without scoffing even more of em when someone's will-power has just run off to join the circus!

Freeze em!

😱Thanks guys. I've just eat another 3 which totals 9 now! I couldnt bring myself to thow them away never one to waste food but I love the freezing idea! I'm gonna freeze them right now!! My god how pathetic I must look! I have always had an unhealthy addiction to chocolate and cakes its one of the things I've struggled most with since being diagnosed. But I am slim and healthier these days and I need to muster more willpower!

Last time I did that I broke a tooth and the subsequent Dentist's account was almost high enough to put me off choccy for life (note, I said "almost").😱

i have no willpower where chocolate is concerned whatsoever it would have to be under lock and key to stop me lol i used to buy it for hypos but found i was eating it anyway so now i have sweets for hypos which i'm not so keen on lol
