I was diagnosed as T2 10 years ago and I regularly haunted this forum and going to meets in different parts of the country. Life changes and I just slowly stopped coming on here.
Moved to a different part of the country just over 12 months ago and have been seeing a practice nurse who specialises in diabetes. Her question on our first meeting was "why are you diabetic?". I didn't know what to say so just said to look back at my test results from 10 years ago. I was on Metformin for 2 years but have been off it now for 8 years. Some weight has gone back on and I do eat biscuits every now and then. Had a call as she wants to take bloods and said she would like me to come off the diabetes register.
What does this mean? Apart from the obvious, there is a register I am currently on, but does that mean no more HbA1C tests, no retinopathy, cheaper insurance?
What? Is it a good thing? This is a bit like 10 years ago - what, what, what?
