The 11-strong team from St Andrew's and St Bride's High School have formed the group Diabetes EK, and have organised their first event at East Mains Baptist Church on Saturday (November 26).
MSP Linda Fabiani will be attending the fundraiser, which runs from noon until 4pm, along with local bands, including The Audio Kings who will also be performing on the day.
One of the event organisers, Ian Fitzpatrick, said: ?Over 2.3 million people in the UK suffer from diabetes and the number is steadily growing. Diabetes can lead to problems with most organs; eyes, kidneys and a vast amount of lower limb amputations are due to complications in diabetes.
