Cold Night Beef Goulash

Hiya

Nights getting darker and cold, very nice stew to keep a cheery smile

RECIPE

? 250g/9oz lean braising steak, cubed
? 250g/9oz new potatoes
? 2 teaspoons seasoned flour
? 1 teaspoon oil
? 1 onion, chopped
? 1/2 red pepper, chopped
? 1 clove garlic, crushed
? 1 teaspoon paprika
? 200g can chopped tomatoes
? 1 tablespoon tomato puree
? 150ml/1/4 pint beef stock

Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 180?C/350?F/gas mark 4.
2. Toss the steak in the seasoned flour. Heat the oil in a flameproof casserole add the steak and fry for 2-3 minutes until browned all over
3. Add the remaining ingredients, bring to the boil, then cover and place in the oven and cook for 11/2-2 hours until the meat is tender.
4. Serve with plenty of vegetables

Gonna have to try this one, my Mum used to make a fantastic goulash from one of her old diabetic cookbooks, was a favourite with everyone!!! Wish I knew what happened to that book she used to cook loads of lovely food from it.

We made this at the weekend, it was gorgeous. Thanks Dawney. We took out the spuds and added heaps more veggies though, carrots, leeks, courgettes, mushrooms. Lovely.
