Hi chezpez. I don't think it will be to do with your diabetes if you've always had it, although it is possible that the diabetes could make you more aware of it and I do think there are some ways it must make it worse. For example, last year, which was my first winter with diabetes, I got chilblains on my toes for the first time in all my 50 years which I don't think is a conincidence. However, I was also on a lot of medication, including beta-blockers - and they made me shiver through the summer so it might have been those at fault.
Make sure you get your regular foot checks done, as they will be able to tell you if your peripheral circulation is a problem.
