Coeliac disease is when a person’s immune response to gluten attacks the tissues in their digestive system. This leads to damage in the gut, which makes it more difficult for the gut to absorb important nutrients from food. Around 1 in 100 people in the UK have coeliac disease, although many are not diagnosed.

Did you know that 3 in 4 people with coeliac disease don’t know they have it?
How sure would you want to be that you have coeliac disease before starting a gluten free diet?

Help us improve coeliac diagnosis by filling out our survey, anyone in the UK can participate (with or without coeliac disease). Participants can win a £50 Amazon voucher.

You can find out more about the survey here.

An information sheet has also been attached, this study is part of a larger project done in collaboration between NIHR ARC West and University of Bristol.
This survey was approved before posting, thank you for taking your time to read this.

I have tried to complete the survey about myself (not a child). When I confirm this is not about a child, I cannot move on without confirming the age of the non-existent child?

Have I had a brain fade?

Doubtful if we have that many on here who are answering for their child aged 65+ !

Hi AndBreathe, thank you for taking time to fill out our survey!
@Inka is right, this question is also for your age if you are doing it for yourself.
Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks everyone. I thought it must be a brain fade, and I also questioned the likelihood of too many on here having a child of 65+. That said, when doing my volunteering stint at the local vaccine hub, the other day, I was struck my the number of very senior folks still caring for very mature downs folks.

It was very heart warming, but tragic at the same time.

Anyway, I'd best get on and complete the questionnaire now.

All done.
