I've just received my new Codefree monitor from Amazon along with spare test strips. I didn't include spare lancets and am about to order some. I found some on Amazon but looking at the reviews, I read a guy saying that the light blue lancets were too short for the monitor which came with dark blue lancets. Other folk said they were ok.
Also included with the monitor is an SD Glucose Check strip. However I can't find information about the purpose of this. Can anyone please advise. Thanks.

Hi @Browser. I have a Codefree and my lancets are pale blue and they fit fine - I didn't receive any dark blue ones so I haven't seen these. You should have received an information booklet within the box which explains how to use the meter, including how to test if the meter's working ok by inserting the check strip just as you would a normal one (but without the blood!). It sounds like the box you bought hasn't for some reason got everything it should have contained...?

I got mine from Amazon originally but you can also get meters and supplies from Home Health, who will take off the vat if you confirm you're diabetic.

Thanks for the reply, PM, sounds like the spare lancets will fit. The pack did come complete. It's just that I couldn't find info in the booklet about the check strip. Maybe I didn't look closely enough.

I have a Codefree Tester and strips but I use a Finger gerpokenpricken from Accu Check which has a six shot pricker. I guess it depends on the size of the prick. ( I can't believe I just said that).

Hi. I believe you need a control solution to use on the control strip.
It should be available where you bought you're meter

You don't need it on the control strip contained within the box, which you insert as it is, but you can order control solution from Home Health separately to check if you believe that there is something wrong with the meter. I find that the control strip is fine though for most occasions.

Thanks, I just assumed you needed it. I stand corrected :D
