I've just read that coconut oil is thought to help with blood sugar levels. I heard it's supposed to help with varies ailments and general health but I really hate the flavour of coconut so I've been reluctant to try it. If it can help with sugar levels then I'm willing to grin and bear the taste of it.has/does anyone use coconut oil? If so does it work?
 
Any oils or fats eaten as part of a meal will slow the absorption rate of the carbs in that meal, helping to match the take up of insulin injected. But not, I'd have thought, specifically coconut oil, as opposed to olive or rapeseed or whatever, and certainly not as a 'miracle ingredient'
 
Here's an unscientific thought.

Coconut oil is used commonly in two particular cuisines - South Asian, and in the Pacific Islands.

Have a look at the diabetes rates in these parts of the world, and then think about what those results suggest about the relationship between coconut oil consumption and diabetes.....
