I’m making drop scones for after dinner this evening. Is coconut flour a good option for batters and baking? Are they low cardb
I tend to use almond flour / ground almonds as I don't like the texture of coconut flour but yes it is low carb 17g per 100g, almond flour 21g per 100g, wheat flour 70+g carb per 100g.I’m making drop scones for after dinner this evening. That doesn't look right.....I tend to use almond flour / ground almonds as I don't like the texture of coconut flour but yes it is low carb 17g per 100g, almond flour 21g per 100g, wheat flour 70+g carb per 100g.
Indeedy, it was from a comparison table on the internet but I have just looked at my pack of H & B and it is indeed 6.9g per 100g. Good spot. That doesn't look right.....
Yes my coconut is nearly the same at 16g/100g but ground almonds are just 6.9g/100g carbohydrate so I am not sure where you got 21 from. Almond flour/ground almonds are considerably less carbs than coconut flour and therefore a better choice.
