Well bloods we good yesterday did not go above 7.4mm this is my first week of diagnosis. Today I woke to 6.4, had raspberrys soya yougurt and 1 oz oats followed by green and blacks cocoa in lactose free semi skimmed milk with stevia. And Bm before lunch 5.5mm. So really pleased with that. I wanted to try making hot chocolate sugar free to see what would happen. Often it is the only thing that will get me to sleep. I have fibro which means my sleep is hopeless I can sometimes not get to sleep, other times I cannot stay asleep and I never wake refreshed. I rely on naps to get me through. Ironically and hour or two in the afternoon is more beneficial to me than 6 hrs at night!

I used to do Cadbury highlights, or the other Options. I will check for aspartame. I see a lot of diet things are changing to stevia or splenda. I am a bit anti aspartame. Which is why I went for straight cocoa and added my own stevia, but the mint options/ highlights are really nice and I can make with full fat lactofree milk for the extra fat? I am learning the late night early morning extreme hunger is due to the insulin resistance, body begging for energy. So a full fat drink before bed might just help...I got some quality peanut butter and put that on celery as well for a late night snack.

I find the Options hot chocolate spikes my levels badly unless I hit it with 1.5 units of insulin which is much more than it should need if it is really just 4g carbs.
