Today I had just a cocktail pasty for lunch - checked Carbs and Cals book and it suggested 8g so I injected but have been going higher and higher all afternoon, now at 16.0! I have corrected now to stop it going any further but not sure why this has happened today?

Is that a Cornish pasty? Never heard of Cocktail pasty (is it a small version :D). You have possibly underestimated the carbs or the thing is loaded with fat/protein combination that's digesting slowly :/

I find any kind of pastry really difficult to gauge. C&C can help you to guess the pastry carbs, but not the fiiling's carbs. Maybe that was the problem.

Never hear of a cocktail pasty. Many pasties have varying quantities of potato in their fillings, so accounting only for pastry wouldn't count everything.

Living in Cornwall and obviously in the past tasting many a pasty :D I can tell you that on average a pasty is 31 carbs per 100 gms.

A cocktail pasty is a tiny version of your average Cornish pasty! :D

I think I underestimated on all counts tbh!!
