A Blackpool health expert is on a mission to boost the resort?s ailing health ? by showing residents how to eat healthier food for less.
It comes as alarming new research reveals more than a third of people in the North West say they cannot afford to eat healthily and around 27,000 people in Blackpool ? around a fifth of the town?s population ? are classed as obese.
Now Tracie Hutchieson, manager of Blackpool Wellness Service ? a free council-backed service which offers adults in the resort help and advice on being healthier ? is running regular cooking clubs to help people make nutritious food for less.
