Hi Cil15

Welcome to the Forum - you have definitely come to the right place for some advice. I am sure Northerner will be along shortly with some very useful advice and links.

Hi Cilla, welcome to the forum 🙂 There are some useful links at the top of the 'Newbies' section, so take a look there. I'd definitely recommend the Gretchen Becker book, even though you are not recently diagnosed it should give you a fresh perspective on things. Also the links to books on GL (Glycaemic Load) diets should give you a good grounding on the type of foods to eat for best control of your blood sugar levels.

It's all about educating yourself about diabetes and how it affects you (as we are all different in some way or other!). Books are useful, and for anything else we are here, so please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have - nothing is considered silly! 🙂

p.s. we have just introduced a new weight loss section, which will offer great support and tips!

.Even though i'm not newly diagnosed i've never really learnt that much about diabetes as my diet was relatively good my blood sugar was fine.Probably a case of sticking my head in the sand with an element of ignoring it if i'm perfectly honest so need to sort it now.So thanks will def take a look.

A warm welcome from me too.

You might get some benefit from joining our little 'Weight Watchers' group. It's very informal and it is there simply to give and get support. To rant when we've been stupid and to boast when we've achieved some little victory or other.

Andy 🙂
