Just thought it might be useful to spin out a Christmas specific thread rather than have things maybe get lost in the general morning figures one.

This is for everything related to the day from food to just reaching out and making contact with someone who cares.

And it’s also just a little bit because I’ve made coconut fat head dough for the first time and have knocked up these American style pigs in blankets, and crackers, and a pizza base because there was so much dough.

I’ve sampled the pastry and it’s delicious. The turkey frankfurters I’ve never had before and they’re primarily for my bubble mate tomorrow.

Starters prepped
Bird brining
Stuffing done
Dauphinois done
Desserts done
Veg blanched and ready for tomorrow
Cat hoovered
Finger stitched after slicing the top off with the mandolin

Yup all ready!

Smashing sausages Colin!!! Sorry about your finger though!
My ham is cooking alongside my turkey basted in paprika butter and lemon zest as per Mary Berry last night! Have added streaky bacon as well and poured a bottle of white wine over it to steam on a bed of leeks!
Keto cheesecake recipe was suggested on another thread and I have just checked I have all the ingredients so going to make that as well!
Got my 1st eye check results and it shows no evidence of diabetic eye disease! Small wins.

Didn’t know if anyone wanted a little go at this?
I will post the answers tomorrow!!

Colin - I literally have felt your pain - Gratin Dauphinoise was often a party piece of mine when my first husband and I hosted and catered a pre Xmas dinner party for our regular gang of friends.

13 is Frosty the Snowman, am I right ?

I think 19 is Step into Christmas and 20 has to be Felice Navidad

Owwwww
Did you find the slice

My brother took the tip off one of his fingers when her with our brand new secateurs.
We did a finger tip search of the garden but with no joy.
It has all grown back.

But how’s the garden?

I want to say #12 is "music to watch girls by" but that's not a christmas song. Also, i've just been ecposed to an hour of Andy Williams.

It's better if you put it on really loud & have a bunch of people dance around to it.

I wholeheartedly recommend the Mariah Carey Christmas special. It’s on Apple TV and iTunes. It’s probably on YouTube and other streaming services too.

I hope everyone's had a lovely day, unfestive as it seems this year. I had not 2 but 3 roast potatoes with my xmas dins. Nice, but not as good as I'd bigged them up to be in my head since I gave them up in April. Also snuck a honey 'n' mustard parsnip onto my plate, but thanks to the 2.5 mile walk afterwards managed to come in at 7.9 2 hours after eating, so not too bad.

I hope everyone else's blood sugar has behaved itself today! Merry Christmas :D x

My 3rd Xmas as a T2 and getting more 'adventurous' with my carbs... I figured one day over the year wouldn't make too much difference. But not bold enough to test and see the actual damage. Tbh, disappointingly the chocolate I ate was a bit too sweet. Hope you all had a restful day.
