I went Christmas shopping yesterday had a hypo of 2.3 (I was armed with jelly babies) ....a bit later hypo of 2.3 again!! 😱 Why O why did I not put a TBR on?! ......it is also true...men should not go shopping! :D

Prices of things this year are enough to cause low bs all over the uk lol

I never hypo Christmas shopping................. mainly because I never do any :D

S are you saying something as small as going round the shops warrants a TBR?

I assume everyone is different in terms of sensitivity to activity.....

I hope I dont have too many TBRs such as this when I get mine.....😱

I suppose everyone is different NRB but yes if busy shopping (especially the xmas stampede) I would normally put a TBR on, as I would if walking the dog, playing golf or other sport etc....you soon get used to it! 🙂

Its just that now, on MDI, I wouldn't expect a low from these activities.......

But with a more refined insulin delivery I might need to expect it.....🙂

....are you saying that on MDI you never hypoed or needed to take sugar on board whilst hard core shopping or exercising? The pump gives you the flexibility to put on a TBR to help avoid that hypo and reduce the compensating sugar that you may have had to take on board.

Exercise yeah, but not shopping, but maybe that's just my style of shopping, relaxed.....😎

Shopping always sends me low - did on MDI, still does on the pump. On MDI I coped with it by eating, on the pump a TBR works wonders.

h always goes low when shopping or maybe its the stress of being out with his mother!!! so does bringing the washing in in the summer!!!

hee hee, when you actually get down to the extra sensitivity to insulin you get after you've had your pump for a bit, you start identifying all sorts of stupid things that cause you to drop - I agree with pegging out and bringing in washing, ironing and hoovering do too, as does anything up a ladder - cleaning the top of the fridge/cooker hood; cleaning light shades, taking down or putting up curtains, getting the cobwebs down - but really really oddly, NOT scrubbing the kitchen floor or cleaning paintwork !

Shopping always sends me low, too. I'm sure I don't exert myself too much ( why do people move so slowly when they walk around shopping centres? You couldnt get up a decent speed if you tried in these crowds) and sure I wouldn't go low doing the same amount of exercise somewhere else. I'm with you delb t; Maybe it's pent up frustration, whatever the cause.....

I think it's just the fact that you're doing it for longer than you'd do other forms of exercise. Typically on a shopping trip I could be on my feet continuously for 3-4 hours. I can't say that about any other forms of exercise!

.......and the supermarket light thing as well!
