Cholesterol

Just arrived back from Gp after flu vaccination got my results from 29/06/10

HbA1c down from 7.2 -6.7

Can anyone explain my cholesterol please?
4/04/09 6.3 before DX
5/02/10 5.3
HDL 1.3

Ratio 4.1 is this my total cholesterol level today? Gp said something by dividing by 18 he was in a bit of a rush!

It's a mystery to me too. Mine was higher when I was vegetarian and no one has been able to explain it to me.

I've almost given up trying to understand it!

I think part of the problem may be that it can vary quite a lot during the day anyway and so taking a spot check once in a blue moon isn't going to be that helpful. Am I correct in that assessment?

I don't think I am asking my question clearly

I am right in thinking cholesterol 5.3 divided by HDL 1.3 = ratio 4.1 if so is 4.1
my total cholesterol or 5.3 sorry for being confusing
