Just been given a lovely box of chocolates (NOT DIABETIC) for my birthday today 🙂
What would you do with them ie have just 2 then inject or....? I'm Type 1 on Humalog 4 x daily & Lantus at bedtime. I'm not overweight.

Happy Birthday!

Easiest to eat as pudding - no need for an extra injection.

Happy birthday Whiskey, my opinion your birthday is once a year go for it, have one or two every 2 hours 😛

I would do as copepod suggests and have them as a pudding after a healthy meal (to soften the spike).

If you google the chocs + nutritional information, you may find out the carbs in each choc and be able to work out how much each unit of insulin covers, then allow yourself 1 or 2 units worth and add this on to your premeal injection.🙂

Bear in mind that the fat in the chocolate and filling may delay any spike for several hours.

Thank you for the replys & help 🙂

The chocs sound lovely. You can eat them as a pudding or share them with other members of the household, but the most important thing is to enjoy them

Yes, Happy (belated) Birthday! For some reason it completely escaped my notice! Hope you had a lovely day and enjoyed a choc or two 🙂
