Hello,

Are those products sold for people with Diabetes good to consume?

I saw a range in Boots but I'm not sure that they don't harm.

Thank you

In a word no. It is now illegal to market products for Diabetics, that is why they call them sugar free, most contain sweeteners that can have laxative effect if you eat more than the odd one. Diabetes UK campaigned for years to stop them being sold Diabetic.

The thing to look for is the carb content, yes it may be sugar free but likely still has carbs..... On the other hand the occasional treat is OK

I have found that sugar free biscuits have roughly the same carb count as regular biscuits, so not worth it. If I fancy a biscuit with my tea, I have one normal biscuit. Doesn't cause me much of a problem.

Some of those sugar free products have the unfortunate effect of going straight through with a vengeance. Years ago I was told if I wanted a biscuit, rich tea was the wisest choice. I only have the occasionally.

I quite enjoy the low sugar biscuits and chocolate, I check the carbs and sugar first.

Honestly I eat a couple of sugar free biscuits at breakfast + 0% yogurt and coffee, but I will probably avoid the chocolate for the moment
