Can you not take bolus insulin before eating things that have hi carb or suger levels in it?, I done have a sweet tooth thank god lol

Hi, I take Humalog before eating meals etc or anything that is high in carbs, if you have something with carb content on packet you can use your meter to test your blood and then put in the carbs and it will tell you how much insulin you need to cover the meal, that should help bring down levels, dosent always work but in general it should, Im still trying to work things out as was only diagnosed in December so I'm no expert lol, beat speaking to your clinic

I may sound stupid but I don't know what bolus is )-:
Bolus is the term we use for the rapid acting insulin we take with meals to balance out the carbs 🙂 (the terms confused me for a long time too - I still call my insulins long and short acting in my head!)
