I’m out with friends tomorrow night and have just discovered we are goin for Chinese. What would you recommend I have? As I have no clue and am thinking high levels, I shouldn’t let this put me off

Chinese in a group is quite easy, providing your compatriots know where you are coming from. Lets hope it is a good chinese where you can order a bunch of dishes which will be put in the middle of the table with a big bowl of rice to share. Its the best way to eat chinese.

All you have to do is to minimise your visits to the rice bowl or any other dish that contains rice. Just concentrate on the diishes that are veg and protein heavy. Oh, and drink tea, a far better accompaniment than beer.

Enjoy.

Assuming your looking for dishes not so high in carbs, if so go for egg foo yung, basically its just a omelette with mixed veg, onions beansprouts mushrooms and meat is optional.

Thank you. I will be driving so woo hoo bottle of water for me

Be brave, go for a jasmine tea. It's light, refreshing and aromatic, nothing like the stuff we drink as tea!

Happy days went for a king prawn foo young and a satay chicken skewer and the results were a fabulous 6.5 and the jasmine tea was lovely. Thank you for your help
