Children’s diabetes services in Southport, Formby and West Lancashire are among the best in the country, say experts.
The service, which is provided by Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, achieved nearly maximum marks in the national peer review assessment of trusts and services diagnosing and providing diabetes treatment to children and young people.
The 2014 National Paediatric Diabetes Peer Review Assessment team praised the “well-led, cohesive team who have good working relationships with each other and are striving to deliver a patient-focussed service."
