CHILDREN should be taught cooking and gardening in schools in a bid to tackle the growing obesity crisis, a report from MPs urges today.
A report from the Environmental Audit Committee at Westminster also recommends stricter limits on junk food advertising, including online where youngsters are targeted by unhealthy brands.
A leading Welsh dietician called on the Welsh Government to adopt similar measures to combat the swelling obesity problem here.
The report also urged planning guidance to be used to make sure communities have access to local food and have land to grown their own fruit and veg.
