Chasing the test strips again!

After a huge amount of nagging I finally got a prescription for 50 strips per month (not really enough but better than nothing). When my husband collected my prescription for Levothyroxine for my thyroid problem last week he was only given one pot of strips to last 2 months. So I went into Boots today to query this and the pharmacist said I have to contact the surgery as that was all that was prescribed, this is the second time that this has happened. So I phoned the surgery and the receptionist said, "you are a type 2 we don't prescribe test strips for type 2s so all I can suggest is that you write a letter to the doctor and ask him". I did this last time and nothing happened. She probably did not pass the letter on. Feel a bit annoyed as until last year I had not had many appointments with the NHS, so had not cost them much grrrr! 😡 I am not giving up though!
 
Soooooo annoying!!! 😡 Sorry you are having to battle, it really is such a short-sighted policy, and downright wrong that they don't even discuss it with you! Grrrr!!!! I hope you can get them to see sense and restore your prescription. 🙂
 
Are you on any meds that can cause hypos and drive? I had to submit a letter to get my test strips re-added.

If you are on such meds and drive then it helps to quote DVLA guidelines that one needs to test before and during driving.

Its very strange there are numerous posts saying the chief excec of the NHS has being recently diagnosed type 2 and tests his BS reguarly, one rule for the bosses and another one for every body else. :(
 
It's like pulling teeth to get them off the Doctors, same here Type 2, but they want us to monitor daily so why not perscribe them, it cost me ?4.99 every two weeks as there is only 17 on roll. Keep going and rock some boats🙂
