A charity which has been overwhelmed by donations following the death of Cardiff schoolboy Peter Baldwin is encouraging people across Wales to be aware of Type 1 diabetes and how to spot symptoms of the condition.

Thirteen year old Whitchurch High pupil Peter Baldwin died suddenly from complications associated with diabetes last week and his family have since launched an appeal to raise awareness of the disease.

More than £4,000 has been donated so far to the Diabetes UK charity, who say they have received countless messages of support for Peter’s family since news of his tragic death.
