A MOTHER whose son was critically ill in hospital as a result of undiagnosed diabetes, is keen to raise awareness of the dangers of the condition.
Jess Leadbeater, 24, of Sandwich Drive, St Leonards, feared for the life of her son Kobe, then 16 months-old, after he was rushed to the Conquest in June suffering from vomiting, paleness, rapid breathing and very high blood sugar levels.
Jess, an alcohol key worker for Action for Change, said: ?He had been absolutely fine, and then had a cold and became quite unwell.
?One night he started being really drowsy and throwing up. He could have gone into a coma if we hadn?t caught it.?
