Have any ex-smokers noticed high blood sugars and the need to drastically increase dosages on both day and night time insulin with the use of Champix/Varenicline 0.5/1mg,prescribed by Stop Smoking UK,and your GP as an aid to stop smoking?

apologies if this has been asked before, but a quick search uncovered nothing on DUK

Ah, now! Some years ago when Champix was brand new, my GP refused to prescribe it. He said that you had to have two tablets at a time but diabetics were only allowed to have one, therefore there was absolutely no point in prescribing any of it cos it wouldn't work. I said pardon? but he'd finished the conversation so that was that.
