what is other peoples experience of storing their CGM sensors?
How quickly to the go off when stored inappropriately?

The documentation that comes with them tells you to store them between 2 and 27 degrees. I have up until now stored them in the fridge more for a constant temperature rather than at a specific one.

My concern at the moment is that I ordered a new box on Thursday and they were supposed to be delivered on Friday. Unfortunately, due to the suppliers errors they failed to be delivered. The next date that they can be delivered is Wednesday which means that they are going to be sitting in the couriers warehouse for almost 5 days.

Does anyone else think my concerned about their storage is justified or am I just getting a bit peeved due to an expensive order (10 sensors not exactly cheap) not being addressed properly?

Hi Rob,

I would say that almost all the parents on the 'childrenwithdiabetes' list dont bother to put them in the fridge. I have never put Alex's in the fridge and they have always been fine. I know it is what Medtronic (or whoever) recommend - but there doesnt seem to be any reason to do it. I really wouldnt worry - but I know what you mean about the cost - they are expensive arent they.🙂Bev

Bev,

thanks for the reply.

yes the cost is high and when things like these go missing in delivery it more than bugs me. This is made worse by the Scotsman in me 🙂

Hi

Bev is right, we don't keep them in the fridge anymore. I don't think Medtronic do recommend this anymore actually, they changed it.

So don't worry and yes it is really really annoying when the deliveries don't come.
