so we are off ski-ing on monday-yipee -just thinking of supplies for H in Ruck sack on top of mountain and things that wont get crushed.I suppose ceareal bars are the hardiest but they seem full of sugar when ive studied the very very small print! any suggestions?

The lowest carb ones that I've found are Alpen Light (appropriate name for something you might take skiing). You could also have a look at Nakd bars, made mostly of pressed fruit - the banana one is lovely, and the berry flavour had crushed nuts in it. The chocolate varieties are less good calorie-wise.

Have you looked at the old fashioned tracker bar? I haven't had one for years so not to sure of carb content now.

havnt seen them on the shelves recently- think i will get a variety- as no doubt his dad will start tucking in!!

I think most of them are around 15g carbs per bar - I would say anything above that is maybe a bit too high as a snack 🙂

What about some small packets of nuts? They shouldn't be too bad for the BGs and are good and solid.

phew hard to track down the old tracker bars!- waitrose eventually. nakd bars-gingerbread yum alpen light so now well stocked up- thanks all for help as always
