To coincide with World Diabetes Awareness day last Thursday, Dales, at Scorrier, were delighted to host a coffee and cake morning in aid of juvenile diabetes. Over ?300 was raised to support JDRF which is a charity that concentrates on finding a cure for type 1 diabetes.
Carolyn Peters, Director at Dales, is running the London Marathon in April and this was one of the charity events she is organising to raise funds and awareness for JDRF. Carolyn's 13 year old son Alfie was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in August this Year. Alfie has had to learn to manage his condition and adapt to four injections of insulin a day.
