THE chief executive of Carstairs State Hospital has been handed a plum NHS job on the same day that a damning report condemned her for ?poor? leadership over a decision to pay senior managers thousands of pounds in bonuses.
Andreana Adamson has taken up a new national role as NHS Director Health and Justice, despite being singled out in report commissioned to examine the payments totalling around ?50,000 made to a handful of senior employees and allegations of bullying of staff at the psychiatric hospital.
Ms Adamson, who took home a salary of up to ?115,000 a year as Carstairs chief executive, will retain the same pay and conditions in her new role, which was announced today.
