THE care and attention given to a youngster with diabetes has won a school in Lostwithiel an award from Diabetes UK.

St Winnow Primary School has received the Good Diabetes Care in School award after it was nominated by parent Karen Lindley , whose son has Type 1 diabetes.

Type 1 is the most common type of diabetes found in children, and accounts for about 10 per cent of all adults with the condition and is treated by daily insulin doses – taken either by injections or via an insulin pump.
