NOT many teenage boys could say they had been to Parliament to help lobby MPs about something they feel passionately about.

But for Marcus Burch, dedicating his spare time to working with diabetes charity JDRF and helping them to raise awareness about the issues faced by those with the condition is something that is high on his list of priorities.

The 16-year-old who is currently studying his A-levels at Eton College but is from Cyncoed, Cardiff, has just been part of the charity?s campaign group who visited Westminster to talk about their experiences and highlight the impact of the condition.

He was chosen by the charity as one of 60 adults and children to attend the ?Type 1 Parliament? lobbying event and was joined by Cardiff Central MP Jenny Willott at the event following an introductory meeting at her surgery earlier this month.
