Hi, my carbs and cals app has updated to the new version and you have to click subscribe to use it, even though it is free for the first year.
My problem is that it is saying that my password is incorrect, even though it isn't, so I now cannot access the app.
Anyone else having this problem ??
Martin

Hi @Martin62 did you pay for it when it was the old version? It's free for the first year if you paid for the old version.
I paid for mine and when I went to Google playstore there was an update sign which of course I pressed on and it then updated to the new version.
Re a password I can't remember having to put a password in when I paid for the old version and I definitely didn't have to put one in when it updated to the new version.
Maybe email them and let them know support@carbsandcals.helpscoutapp.com.
Hopefully another member will be along with some more help for you.

Hi , yes I had paid for the old version , and I'm pleased to say that I can now access the new one without using a password.
Must of been a glitch , the I.T.gremlins getting a bit frazzled by the hot weather we are having

Hi, I have been using the old Carbs & Cals App for many years now and it has been a great help to me, especially when out socialising (remember that!) and on holidays.
Now a new version has now come out requiring you to subscribe, you get the first 365 days free and then it charges you, either £35.99 per year or £6.99/month (or £83.88/year).
So, I thought I would carry on and try it, but oh dear, it is not easy to use.
However, what I have found is that it is constantly asking you to upgrade. For instance, you can add a cup of coffee, but not a latte without the upgrade to view it(!), but if you type in "latte" you don't need the upgrade(?). Nor can you change the weight of your granola without upgrading to set your own sizes.
I have not checked out what the upgrade is at the moment, but is probably more money.
Not happy.

They seem to want me to take the upgrade too,but I keep ignoring and I doubt I will subscribe.

Mine doesn’t seem to have updated yet, I await with bated breath! Don’t use it much any more though so definitely won’t bother to subscribe, still have the updated version of the book in case of emergencies!!

I've only noticed Carbs & Cals has been updated on my phone today, asking me to start the free trial. Reading the post from @Caterham Driver is it worth trying or is the NutraCheck app better? Any ideas. I use the book at home if i'm not sure of any carb amounts but the app is handy to have when out and about.

Nutracheck does a 7 day free trial usually so you could try it out and see if it works for you. There is also a cost but I prefer it than the old carbs and cals (haven’t tried the new one as on iphone) so happy to pay the £24 a year for nutracheck for the access to something so easy to use and ad free
