I'm slowly getting to grips with carb counting, well not so much counting them but getting to know them. Since I have no real need at the moment to count them but I guess it will come in handy.

I think the best way to this is adding it to my excel charts since I record what I eat alongside BS anyway.

But, in the meantime does anyone have any tips etc?
🙂

Have to admit I rarely actually count carbs these days. I seem to be familiar enough with most of my meals that I can make a pretty accurate guesstimate most of the time. You'll have a very useful chart to refer to though, when/if you go onto insulin 🙂

Buy a good set of digital kitchen scales, there great for weighing foods like rice, potatoes and cereal. Can't help with charts as I rarely record things unless I'm due a check or believe my insulin requirements are changing.

Tips, yes, buy yourself the Collins CALORIE counter book, ?3.99 Or the latest version of Carbs and Cals (think it's '& Fats & Fibre', or summat like that now)

But the former is cheaper and small enough to lob into the more capacious handbag we all have to have to accommodate all the kit! LOL
