Carb counting

After nearly a year since my 3c diagnosis, I'm trying my best to learn how to carb count. I haven't got a clue how to work it, I was rubbish with maths. I know I have to be responsible for eating suitable portions and will have to avoid most of my favourite food, to BG spikes.
Where do I start?? Please help. So devastating I can't touch my sweet things things like chocolate anymore.
Can I still have All Bran cereal for breakfast anymore?

As you’re not on bolus/fast/meal insulin, you don’t have to count in quite the same way because you’re not calculating a bolus dose @Busdriver60 But you’d probably find control easier if you ate similar carb amounts each day, spread similarly across your three meals. So, you’d more be adding up your carbs.

What do you eat in an average day at the moment? If you want to reduce carbs, I’d do that very gradually in case your Toujeo dose needs adjusting. So, I’d start by working out your average day’s carbs, then plan to reduce that gradually in small steps.

All Bran is one of the lower carbs of normal cereals. However, you’d be wise to weigh your portion for consistency and so you know the carbs. You’d also have to count the carbs in the milk.
