A Canterbury university scheme to transform NHS emergency care in the UK has finished its first phase, after 10 months of work.
The Urgent and Emergency Care Workforce Development Project at Canterbury Christ Church University is hoping to find new ways for the NHS to deal with the pressure of an increasingly older population, without compromising on care, by analysing “pinch points” and gaps in the existing NHS.
Speaking to the Times just before the £250,000 scheme was rolled out in March, director Carrie Jackson said she was hopeful that the scheme would eventually lead to new practices in A & E departments nationwide.
